SMIC REPORTS 2026 SECOND QUARTER RESULTS

Shanghai, China –August 13, 2025 – Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SEHK: 00981; SSE STAR MARKET: 688981) (“SMIC”, the “Company” or “we”), one of the leading semiconductor foundries in the world, today announced its consolidated results of operations for the three months ended June 30, 2026.

Second Quarter 2026 Highlights

  • Revenue was $3,005.6 million in 2Q26, compared to $2,505.5 million in 1Q26, and $2,209.1 million in 2Q25.
  • Gross profit was $760.6 million in 2Q26, compared to $503.6 million in 1Q26, and $449.8 million in 2Q25.
  • Gross margin was 25.3% in 2Q26, compared to 20.1% in 1Q26 and 20.4% in 2Q25.

Third Quarter 2026 Guidance

The Company expects (in accordance with IFRSs):

  • Revenue to increase by 2% to 4% QoQ.
  • Gross margin to range from 26% to 28%.

The Management Comments

In the second quarter, the Company overall achieved total revenue of $3 billion, up 20% sequentially; gross margin was 25.3%, up 5.2 percentage points sequentially.

In the third quarter, the Company’s revenue is expected to increase 2% to 4% sequentially, and the gross margin is expected to be in the range of 26% to 28%.

Looking ahead to the second half of this year, the industrial momentum and spillover effects generated by AI will persist, driving broad based demand for integrated circuit manufacturing. The Company will flexibly allocate existing capacity and accelerate the qualification of newly added capacity to help ease supply constraints across the industry chain. Overall, the Company maintains an optimistic outlook on industry trends and the Company’s development.
